캐나다 넘버원 커피브랜드 팀홀튼 Tim Hortons. 대한민국에 진출한다.

우리나라에서도 이제 팀빗이나 프렌치 바닐라를 즐길 수 있겠구나.

뉴욕 로이터 통신에 따르면, 팀홀튼이 올해 말에 한국 시장으로 진출할 것임을 밝혔다고 보도했다.

NEW YORK, May 10 (Reuters) - North American coffee shop chain Tim Hortons will enter the retail market in South Korea later this year, its parent company Restaurant Brands International (QSR.TO) said in a statement on Wednesday.

The company said the new stores in the Asian country, one of the fastest growing coffee markets in the world, would be developed under a master franchise agreement with BKR Co Ltd, a local operator in the quick service business.

Tim Hortons has around 5,600 stores in 15 countries, with a larger presence in Canada and the United States. It says it uses premium, 100% arabica coffee beans in its blends.

Restaurant Brands International, which also owns fast food chains Burger King and Popeyes, did not provide financial details of the deal or the number of stores it plans to open in South Korea.

뉴욕, 5월10일 (로이터) - 북미 커피숍 체인 팀홀튼(Tim Hortons)이 올해 말 한국 소매 시장에 진출할 것이라고 팀홀튼의 모회사인 레스토랑 브랜드 인터내셔널(QSR.TO)이 수요일 성명을 통해 밝혔다.

회사는 세계에서 가장 빠르게 성장하는 커피 시장 중 하나인, 이 아시아 국가의 새로운 매장은 퀵 서비스 사업의 현지 운영업체인 BKR Co Ltd와 마스터 프랜차이즈 계약에 따라 개발될 것이라고 말했다.

팀홀튼은 15개국에 약 5,600개의 매장을 보유하고 있으며 캐나다와 미국에 더 많은 매장이 있다. 이들은 프리미엄 100% 아라비카 원두를 블렌드에 사용한다고 한다.

패스트푸드 체인인 버거킹과 파파이스도 소유하고 있는 레스토랑 브랜드 인터내셔널은 이번 거래에 대한 재정적 세부 사항이나 한국에서 개점할 매장 수에 대해서는 밝히지 않았다.

가격도 나름 저렴하고, 여름에는 '아이스캡'이라는 존맛탱 아이템도 있어서 한국에서도 몇번 그리웠었는데, 드디어 국내에서도 나름 편하게 즐길 수 있게 되겠구만.

 

이미 스타벅스가 장악한 우리나라에서 얼마나 분투할 수 있을지는 모르겠지만, 그래도 응원한다 팀홀튼.
